Bryce Canyon Snow

BERNARD MARKS WROTE ABOUT HIS DRAMATIC OIL PAINTING “BRYCE CANYON SNOW”:

Bryce Canyon National Park in southwestern Utah is distinctive due to its geological structures. I’ve painted there several times, but I made “Bryce Canyon Snow” after my first visit when snow accented the spectacular rock formations.

Martha and I had arrived at Bryce Canyon in early spring, when the snow lay atop the rocks like frosting on a cake. I enjoyed juxtaposing the cool colors of the snow against the warm reds and oranges of the rocks.
