Canyonlands National Park, one of the natural gems of southeastern Utah, encompasses the Colorado Plateau and two large rivers. The Colorado River and the Green River and their tributaries have carved the colorful landscape into countless canyons, mesas and buttes. Cutting through layered sandstone, the rivers have left a landscape of stark beauty.
I’ve done several paintings from this same Canyonlands viewpoint, including the watercolor shown here.
The original painting was sold to a private collector by an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
