Located in Arizona’s Dragoon Mountains, this beautiful woodland area lies in a protective rampart of granite domes and sheer cliffs that were once the refuge of the great Apache Chief, Cochise, and his people.

I was there in Spring, when the foreground trees with their delicate blossoms provided an interesting contrast with the rugged hills in the background.



The original painting was sold to a private collector by an art consultant in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
