High Country Color
This painting is based on field studies made in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, New Mexico’s highest mountains. The composition is more like a photographer’s approach, with a low-angle perspective and a shallow depth of field, resulting in a background of yellow foliage that is abstract, rather than detailed.
