Last Glow at the Grand Canyon

BERNARD MARKS WROTE ABOUT HIS RADIANT WATERCOLOR “LAST GLOW AT THE GRAND CANYON”:

I painted this watercolor on location at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, which makes it a plein air piece. The glow on the distant rocks would last only a short time, so I worked fast to capture the gorgeous scene.

This painting sold quickly from the gallery that represented my work in Santa Fe. It’s still one of my favorites.

MARTHA MARKS ADDS:

It’s no wonder that this radiant piece sold fast, sometime between 2005 and 2007. That’s the period when Bernie was really on a roll at Lennon Fine Art on Canyon Road in Santa Fe. After the gallery owner changed her focus to Russian art, Bernie and several other artists had to find different galleries to represent them. But the quantity of sublime watercolor paintings that Bernie produced and sold during that time period was amazing.

I’m pleased to be able to offer custom-made giclée prints of this one and several others.
