Last Stand of Autumn

This acrylic painting was inspired by a drive through Dixie National Forest, which stretches across southern Utah. Elevations in the forest range from 2,800 feet to over 11,000 feet. This variation leads to diverse plant life throughout, from desert plants at lower elevations, to aspens and conifers up higher. Autumn was just passing its peak, but the colors were still beautiful.

The original painting was sold to a private collector by an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
