Late Afternoon at Grand Canyon
I’ve painted at the Grand Canyon many times. It’s always a challenge, especially when the light is fading fast and shadows are constantly shifting.
That was the case with this painting, which I did live on the South Rim. I used both linear and atmospheric perspective in an attempt to capture the canyon’s depth and vast distances.
The original acrylic painting was sold to a private collector by an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
