Molas Lake
MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ GORGEOUS OIL PAINTING “MOLAS LAKE”:
Molas Lake is a marvelous spot at 11,000′ of elevation along the “Million Dollar Highway” near Silverton, Colorado. Bernie and I camped there twice over the years, and he produced a fabulous oil painting both times.
He wrote this for an article about his painting soon after finishing his original take on Molas Lake:
“What could be more spectacular than the combination of a flower-filled mountain meadow with a lake and the snow-capped Rocky Mountains as a backdrop? A triple dose of beauty… impossible for a landscape painter to resist.”
Unfortunately, there remains no digital photograph of that first “Molas Lake” masterpiece, which sold almost immediately through a gallery in Colorado. As a result, I can’t offer prints of it.
But to make up for that loss, I’ve had a professional digital photo made of this one. So now, we can always offer top-quality “Molas Lake” prints, even after the gorgeous original has left to grace someone else’s home or office. It’s a very special painting of a very special place.
