Painted Desert Perspective
Painted Desert National Monument in northeastern Arizona mixes colors in every conceivable combination. The stratified layers contain minerals that saturate the landscape with a variety of hues—reds, oranges, pinks, lavenders and grays.
Millions of years of erosion of these layers have created a badlands canvas that challenges every artist (including this one) who tries to capture the beauty and complexity of this area.
The original acrylic painting was sold to a private collector by an art gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
