Sunset Watch Sedona

Sedona is nestled among red sandstone formations in north-central Arizona. Pre-historic people appeared in the valley around 9000 B.C. These hunter-gatherers stayed there longer than in any other part of the southwest, perhaps due to the abundance of resources. Or perhaps they simply loved the land and couldn’t bring themselves to leave it.

These days, the array of red rocks is still the area’s main attraction. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun.

This oil painting depicts a popular viewing spot where dozens gather to watch the spectacular sunset light.
