A Disappearing Lifestyle

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ EVOCATIVE “A DISAPPEARING LIFESTYLE,” WITH ITS GREAT FALL COLOR:

This bright acrylic painting was the second version of a real-life scene that Bernie painted after an extensive trip we made to Colorado, enjoying the glorious autumn colors of September 2004.

After an afternoon of painting (Bernie) and photographing birds (me), we had been chatting with the local couple shown here, admiring their horses, and petting their dogs. Suddenly a truck driver who seemed very angry raced down the middle of the road, changing the easygoing mood. It felt like a poignant reminder of a lifestyle that probably was not likely to survive much longer.

You can read more about it and see Bernie’s original watercolor painting here: Vanishing Point in Colorado.

A gallery in Santa Fe sold this original acrylic”A Disappearing Lifestyle” years ago, but I’m proud to still be able to offer the lovely scene as a “Little Gem” giclée print.

This “Little Gem” giclée print on thick archival paper comes with a custom-cut white mat that fits into a standard 11″ x 14″ frame.

Contact Martha Marks if you have questions. And let her know if you’d like one or more of these lovely prints sent to someone else!
