Bryce Point

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ INTRICATE WATERCOLOR “BRYCE POINT” FROM BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK:

Bernie painted several versions of Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah. Every one of them is different, and they’re all equally stunning. That’s because, of course, the breathtaking collection of orange-colored and fantastically shaped rocks are what this place is all about. You can see that in the details that Bernie brought into this amazing watercolor.

As he wrote elsewhere on this site: “Millions of years of wind, water and geologic forces have shaped the cliffs of Bryce Canyon. Arising from the cliffs are thousands of delicate spires that glow like candles when the light falls behind them. This fantasy canyon is a major feature of Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah. Red, orange and white colors in the rock formations give Bryce its distinctive palette. This watercolor painting is based on many field studies I’ve made in this magical place.”

In all, this website offers 4 remarkably diverse original paintings and/or giclée prints of Bryce Canyon National Park—oils, acrylics, and watercolors: Bryce Magic,” “Bryce Point,” Bryce Canyon Snow,” and Bryce Valley.”
