Horses and Riders

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ LUMINOUS PLEIN AIR WATERCOLOR “HORSES AND RIDERS”:

In “Horses and Riders,” Bernie preserved a real-life memory of ours. We were in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. As usual, he was there for painting and I was there for photography.

As I scouted up interesting birds, Bernie found this group of horses and riders gathering for a trail ride. Working quickly, he made this luminous plein air watercolor on the spot.

Bernie framed and kept that original painting, which has white space below the figures and his signature.

We now offer top-quality giclée prints of the original “white space” version (12″ x 17″, above) or a panorama (9″ x 17″) cropped just below the figures and Bernie’s signature.
