Jackson Hole Homestead

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ GENTLE WATERCOLOR “JACKSON HOLE HOMESTEAD” FROM NEAR JACKSON, WYOMING:

One day in the summer of 2003, as Bernie and I were exploring the rural area around Jackson, Wyoming, near Grand Teton National Park for the first time, we came upon this iconic scene. Everything was perfect: the various ranch buildings, the split-rail fence, the wildflowers in the foreground, the Tetons in the background.

It was much too good to pass up, so Bernie pulled well off the road, set up his easel, and made this plein air painting as I read (as I often did) in the car. Good times result in happy memories… not to mention lovely watercolors like this.

Excellent custom-made giclée prints on thick matte archival paper are available.
