Lobster Pot Buoys
an “Early Bernie” watercolor = 25% discount
MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ PICTURESQUE WATERCOLOR “LOBSTER POT BUOYS”:
One summer in the mid 1970s, Bernie and I spent two leisurely weeks in Maine, exploring the coast and eating our weight in seafood. Along the way, we saw lots of rustic buildings festooned with colorful buoys, which presumably were hanging up to dry… or else just for decoration.
After Bernie made this painting, we framed it and gave it to my parents for Christmas. It was a good gift, because they had lived for two years in New England and knew why buoys used on lobster pots might be hanging on rustic buildings beside the sea.
Recently, I “liberated” this original painting from its dated ’70s mat and frame and had it professionally photographed. The unframed original is for sale now for the first time ever.
This original painting is available for purchase, as are top-quality, custom-made giclée prints.
