Snow in the Sangres

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ DELICATE WATERCOLOR “SNOW IN THE SANGRES”:

The Sangre de Cristo Mountains is the longest range of the Rocky Mountains. Their massive peaks extend from northern New Mexico well into central Colorado. There’s a lot of land and trees and snow and wildlife and views to enjoy throughout the range. New Mexicans and Coloradans love these shared mountains,  which they simply call “The Sangres.”

Bernie made this delicate watercolor in the Carson National Forest, which crosses the Sangre de Cristo Mountains above Santa Fe, New Mexico. His brush strokes add up to a lot of beauty and texture in a small space.
