MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ SPECTACULAR “TETON MORNING” FROM GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK:
This large painting shows Grand Teton National Park the way I remember it from our first visit there, in the summer of 2000. It was a glorious introduction to the most majestic mountain range I’d ever seen.
Bernie took photos and made a small plein air watercolor of this scene on the spot. Later, he reworked it in his studio, creating this remarkably ethereal version of a massive mountain range and a sweeping, wildflower-filled meadow.
