Third Crossing at Palo Duro Canyon
BERNARD MARKS WROTE ABOUT HIS GLOWING PANORAMA “THIRD CROSSING AT PALO DURO CANYON”:
“Third Crossing at Palo Duro Canyon” is a specific location in an absolutely beautiful state park, located in the Texas Panhandle. And as you can see in my painting, it’s got great colors. And interesting land forms. And rippling water. To tell you the truth, it’s quite a remarkable place.
Over many millennia, a small stream with a long name, The Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River, slowly eroded this huge area, the second largest canyon in the United States. Only the Grand Canyon is larger.
In that canyon, there are several numbered water crossings over that river. This panoramic painting depicts one of them. “Fourth Crossing at Palo Duro Canyon” shows another. And my “Sweet Light at Palo Duro Canyon” offers a more general view.
