Adobe and Chiles

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL “ADOBE AND CHILES”:

Bernie left no specific notation about his beautiful “Adobe and Chiles” painting. But I know that he loved both rural New Mexico towns and the classic adobe architecture shown here. He also loved New Mexico’s decorative chiles, shown here in the line of chile ristras dangling from the portal.

Perhaps the best way to describe “Adobe and Chiles” is to echo what he previously wrote about a similar painting of his, which you can see here: “New Mexico Summer.” Both traditional adobe houses are located in an historic rural New Mexico community along the Rio Grande.

This “Little Gem” giclée print on thick archival paper comes with a custom-cut white mat that fits into a standard 11″ x 14″ frame.
