In “Winter Coat,” Bernie captures as well as anything I’ve ever seen the way the stunning Sangre de Cristo Mountains glow on a bright wintry morning following a snowy night.
For the last two decades of his life, we made our home in the high desert of northern New Mexico. Almost every one of those days, we looked up at mountains that loom over Santa Fe. We enjoyed them in every season, every time of day, every light condition, every weather event… like the kind of glorious snowy morning that Bernie portrays so well in “Winter Coat.”
I don’t believe “Winter Coat” has ever been publicly displayed before. And that’s a true shame. So it’s my great pleasure to make it available through this website.
