New Mexico Red

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ COLORFUL “NEW MEXICO RED”:

In this state, when one talks about “red” one is usually talking about chile. “Red or green?” is our official state question. But it’s also not uncommon to use the word “red” to describe our colorful sunsets.

If you don’t believe this painting is credible, come to Santa Fe in August.

Find a comfy spot with a view facing west toward the Jemez Mountains. Settle in with a margarita or a beer and some excellent home-made guacamole. Odds are good that you’ll come away with your own first-person sighting of a brilliant sunset remarkably similar to this one.

If you can’t get enough of New Mexico sunsets, be sure to check out “New Mexico Red,” “Red Sky,” “Sunset Over Abiquiu Lake,” “Sunset Riders,” “Sunset Rain” and “White Sands Sunset“.

This “Little Gem” giclée print on thick archival paper comes with a custom-cut white mat that fits into a standard 11″ x 14″ frame.
