Horse Carriage in Chicago #2

an “Early Bernie” watercolor

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ PLEIN AIR WATERCOLOR “HORSE CARRIAGE IN CHICAGO #2”:

Over the three decades (1969-2002) that we lived in the northern suburbs of Chicago.

Sometimes he painted these when we were together downtown. But other times he went to the city just for this. He loved painting human and animal figures, and… where better to find those things than along Michigan Ave.

Bernie sold most of his Chicago-area paintings at summertime art fairs, but after we moved to Santa Fe in 2002, a gallery in Santa Fe sold them there.

As a result, I have none of the original “Early Bernies” from Chicago and only the few digital photos listed below, which are good enough to reproduce as prints.

These come with our “Little Gems” custom-cut mat special offer: “Horse Carriage in Chicago #1,” “Horse Carriage in Chicago #2,” and “Horse Carriage in Chicago #3”

These come with our “Early Bernie” 25% discount: “Oak Street Beach,” Water Tower in Chicago,” and Water Tower and 7Up Truck”

This “Little Gem” giclée print on thick archival paper comes with a custom-cut white mat that fits into a standard 11″ x 14″ frame.

Contact Martha Marks if you have any questions. And let her know if you’d like one or more of these lovely prints sent to someone else as a gift.
