Well done website. The vibrant colors remind me of Ann’s bead work.

Thanks, Gary. Bernie would be proud to have his brilliant colors compared to Ann’s bead work!

Martha, I did not realize that Bernie had passed away. I think of him every year on “our” birthday. I have such sweet memories of times spent with the two of you as I grew up. Thankful you are finding such comfort as you work through this time of loss and grief. I send much love to you!

Angie, it’s great to hear from you!

Bernie and I enjoyed so many wonderful times with you and your family, all those years when you were young. Sorry we didn’t get to see you again while he was still here, but please know that that he remembered you and your shared birthday with great affection.

I send my love, and Bernie’s too, back to you!

Martha, Oh. This is the first I’ve heard of Bernie’s passing and I send heartfelt condolences. If I had to guess, I’d say I knew Bernie for at least 35 years… back when he published his home furnishings newsletter. I was in the furniture advertising industry as well, and always appreciated his gentle, yet spot-on critiques. When he “graduated” — as we advertising people tend to say– to express his passion for painting , it was lovely to see his work. He was a thoughtful painter with a great design sense. His watercolors glowed. Thank you Martha, for updating this website. I’ll come back to visit. Meanwhile… Well Done Bernie!

Robin, I’m so glad you found your way to Bernie’s new website and wanted to post a comment. Now I hope you’ll find time to explore it in depth, because there’s an amazing amount of beauty here. Those glowing watercolors you remember from long ago are especially well represented.

And I really appreciate your kind words about Bernie as a person, an advertising guru, and an artist. He was very good at being all three.

      My best to you!

Hi David, and thank you so much for commenting here!

Yes, Bernie was loaded with talent… and his paintings only got better as the years passed. He and I were so happy to reconnect with you recently after decades out of touch. I hope this finds you well and enjoying life.

    Hi Martha,

You have done such a good job with this. Really very nice. Love his photo. The smile, the gentleness, the sweetness. His paintings and his impact on our lives. We will always remember that.

Paul and AJ, you made me cry!

But still, thanks for the wonderful comment. Bernie really was a marvelous guy, wasn’t he? I’m the one who was luckiest to have him in my life for so long.

Did not mean to make you cry–but after all, you are camping in a “teardrop!” May this goofy comment make you smile, a little.

Paul, I’m smiling a lot more these days, even though it’s still hard to go on without Bernie. Hugs to you and AJ!

You had shown me a couple of his paintings, but I never knew how deeply talented he was until now. I did know, however, how talented YOU are. What a team you were. I’m so glad you did this site!

Thank you, Guy,for taking a look at Bernie’s wonderful artwork. Yes, we really were a good team in many ways. And I appreciate your comment on my webmastering efforts, too. Now if I could only learn to paint like Bernie did!

Hi Lorelei! Thank you for visiting our site and posting this good comment. It’s the first one that has appeared here, which makes it extra special.

Yes, it’s hard to beat Colorado when it comes to fabulous landscapes, and also hard to beat Bernie Marks’ paintings of those landscapes. I’m glad you enjoyed them.
