Horse Carriage in Chicago #3

an “Early Bernie” watercolor

MARTHA MARKS COMMENTS ON BERNARD MARKS’ CHARMING “HORSE CARRIAGE IN CHICAGO #3”:

Over the three decades (1969-2002) that we lived in the Chicago ‘burbs, Bernie painted many plein air watercolors “live and on site” downtown. He always attracted a crowd, which never bothered him.  I might shop for an hour, and when I came back I could tell where he was by the throng of people clustered around him.

Bernie made most of these paintings along or near Lake Michigan and Michigan Ave in downtown Chicago. He sold most of them at suburban art fairs. The rest he also sold through a gallery in Santa Fe after we moved there in 2002.

As a result, I have none of the original “Early Bernies” from downtown Chicago and only a few digital photos. But still, those are good enough so I can offer them as small profesional prints.

These come with our “Little Gems” custom-cut mat special offer: “Horse Carriage in Chicago #1,” “Horse Carriage in Chicago #2,” and Horse Carriage in Chicago #3″

These come with our “Early Bernie” 25% discount: “Oak Street Beach,” Water Tower in Chicago,” and Water Tower and 7Up Truck.”

This “Little Gem” giclée print on thick archival paper comes with a custom-cut white mat that fits into a standard 11″ x 14″ frame.
