Rio Chama Autumn
The Rio Chama is one of the most scenic rivers in New Mexico. A major tributary of the Rio Grande, it winds through a colorful landscape of sandstone canyons like the area shown here, which is near the historic town of Abiquiu, famous as the adopted home of artist Georgia O’Keeffe. The river is especially beautiful when lined by cottonwoods in their autumn splendor.
